Showbiz legend Paul O’Grady is set to front a new show at Boom Radio just eight months after he left BBC Radio 2.
The 67-year-old hosted his Sunday show on Radio 2 for 14 years before calling it quits last year following a dramatic ageism row.
Paul, whose career spans over four decades , made the decision to walk away after a string of presenters were axed by the network.

But the For Love Of Dogs star has since been snapped up by a rival radio station less than a year since his dramatic exit.
Paul will now be hosting his own show on rival station Boom Radio – an independent UK radio station aimed at Baby Boomers.
It will mark the second collocation between Paul and the network, following a special show he hosted on Christmas Day 2022 – which drew in a record number of listeners, according to the station.
The Birkenhead-born presenter said: “It’s great to be working with the team at Boom again. It already feels like my new radio home.”
Speaking to MailOnline, Paul added: “My producer Malcolm and I are looking forward to our special TeamPOG show on Easter Sunday – who knows, this could be the start of a regular gig.”
In August last year, Paul took to social media hours before his final radio show to address the reasoning behind his departure.
The former Channel 4 chat show host revealed it to be because of his “unhappiness” surrounding the working pattern.
“I just want to say that tonight is my very last show on Radio 2 after 14 years! I have never had a job for that long,” he said.
“So I want to say thank you very much for listening and for all your emails and all your messages and all the fun I’ve had over the years.
“And also a huge special mention to Malcolm Prince, my producer. And I’ve been really lucky in my time to have worked with some smashing producers, and Malcolm is way up there, believe you and me.”
Addressing the reasoning behind his exit, Paul then revealed: “And the reason I’m leaving is because everybody’s asked me this. It’s because I wasn’t really happy with the 13 weeks on/13 weeks off business.”
He added: “So, I did the honourable thing and I honoured my contract, gave my notice and now I’m off.
“Anyway, thanks very much and good luck to everyone on Radio 2 and long may you continue!”
