Peter Kay looked worlds away from his Phoenix Nights days as he made a rare appearance in a fresh social media video.
The 49-year-old comedian recently made his triumphant return to the spotlight, and the stage – with Peter embarking on a mammoth comeback tour at the end of 2022.
And now, in a rare new picture taken after a recent stand-up gig at London’s O2 Arena, Paul looked incredible – showing off his amazing weight loss.

In the video, shared by Bryan Edery, Peter could be seen in a black tracksuit grinning as he said: “Two lamb bhunas” before both men started laughing.
The musician captioned the clip: “I was fortunate enough to be invited by my good friends to see Peter Kay’s amazing show at the O2. And then very lucky to meet the man himself backstage.”
He added: “Go and see Peter’s show, it’s incredible. Secondly, thank you friends, you know who you are.”
Fans of Peter soon flooded the comments section to pile high the compliments, with many floored over his appearance.
“Wow that’s some weight loss, hope you are well,” said one fan.
Another chimed in and added: “I thought it was Gary Barlow!!! Looking great.”
“I honestly did not know who he was…..until I read Peter Kay !!!” proclaimed a third fan.
Echoing their thoughts, someone else said: “Wow that’s some mega weight loss Peter lad.”
“That can not be Peter,” a fifth penned.
Bolton-born Peter thrilled fans last year with a series of UK dates which sold like hotcakes.
The comic kick-started his ‘Better Late Than Never Tour’ at Manchester’s AO Arena in December, with more than 100 shows planned across the UK between 2022 and 2025.
The legendary star first started his career as a stand-up comedian and then after seeing huge success was offered a plethora of TV opportunities.
Over the years, he has also written screenplays such as Phoenix Nights and the hit series Car Share.
He also amassed a sizeable chunk of his earnings from the four books he has under his belt.
