Piers Morgan has taken to Twitter to reminisce about the “magical moment” he watched Susan Boyle sing on Britain’s’ Got Talent.
Brits across the nation will remember the unforgettable audition, which saw the Scottish singer appear before Piers and fellow judges Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell back in 2008.

At the time, Piers proclaimed that “without a doubt that was the biggest surprise I’ve had in three years on this show.
“When you stood there with that cheeky grin and said I wanna be like Elaine Paige everyone was laughing at you. No one is laughing now.”
Heaping praise on her, he continued: “That was stunning. An incredible performance. Amazing. I’m reeling from shock.”
And on Friday (March 24), five years later, he gushed over her again in a sweet tweet in front of his millions of followers.
It came response to a fan who tweeted the star, saying: “I always thought it was cool the way @piersmorgan congratulated Susan Boyle on her audition. Just one of the best moments in TV history.”
Piers shared the tweet and added: “It was a magical moment.”
The fan added: “Still hits. Doesn’t matter how many times you watch it,” to which Piers replied: “Yes… me too…. it was so astonishingly surprising.”
The singing sensation has had 23 million album sales, a cluster of UK and US No.1s and a stack of Guinness World Records to her name.
Her iconic audition has now seen by over 680 million YouTube fans.

The singer had famously admitted to wanting Piers back in 2019, saying, “I want you mate. I want you – come this way, Piersy Baby,” but it seems that her tastes have matured since then.
In a rare appearance on Heart FM, the 60-year-old Boyle revealed that she now respects him but doesn’t fancy him anymore.
“When Susan came on, we thought at first she was a comedy act – and had rather dubious taste in men because she had a crush on Piers,” said Amanda Holden.
To this, Boyle grunted, “Who!” before Holden continued: “Exactly, that’s gone! You don’t fancy Piers anymore?” to which Susan replied, “I respect him, I don’t fancy him – I have grown up a bit now!”
