Quentin Tarantino's wildest moments – foot fetish and taxi driver nipple bite

Quentin Tarantino is one of Hollywood’s most legendary directors and the star has brushed shoulders with some of the biggest names in the industry.

Tarantino has worked with Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis and many, many more.

He is known throughout Hollywood for his unique style, strange habits and wild behaviour which has led to some tall tales and assumptions about the movie maker.

From a secret foot fetish to multiple stints in prison, many wild stories about the actor have been spread.

Taxi driver nipple fight

One of Tarantino’s weirder tales came after he found himself caught up in an altercation with a cab driver.

He spoke to Jay Leno about the incident back in 2013 and recalled the shocking chain of events.

Tarantino revealed: “I have been in two fights this year already. One that I started, one that I didn’t. […] I was in the back of this cab and this taxi driver, who was a big guy – he was a real jerk. So I said: ‘Pull over to the side of the road and let me out’.”

Quentin continued: “He was such a jerk, I didn’t want to give him a 50 cent tip. He gave me my change, but then he refers to my date and says: ‘Use it to buy her a new face’.”

The director then admitted that he proceeded to attack the cab driver but was met with a very unusual response.

Tarantino’s nipple was almost bitten off by the driver, but the star hilariously said that his opponent would have torn it off completely if he’d been “less greedy and taken a smaller bite”.

Foot fetish

It has long been assumed that the Hollywood director has a foot fetish due to many up close and personal scenes throughout his catalogue.

At the beginning of Kill Bill Vol 1, Uma Thurman’s foot is shown in all its glory as her character, The Bride, tries to control herself.

In the film’s sequel Vol 2, Thurman’s foot is used to squish Elle Driver’s eye, while in Pulp Fiction Jule and Vince have an in depth conversation about massaging women’s feet.

Tarantino even shot a scene showing himself sucking on a toe

Several other scenes – like when Quentin sucked on Salma Hayek’s toe during his cameo in From Dusk Till Dawn – have led many to believe he has a liking for that sort of thing.

Tarantino has previously addressed the rumours and spoke to GQ to explain.

He said: “I don’t take it seriously. There’s a lot of feet in a lot of good directors’ movies. That’s just good direction. Like, before me, the person foot fetishism was defined by was Luis Buñuel, another film director. And Hitchcock was accused of it and Sofia Coppola has been accused of it.”

Making a Hollywood blockbuster can be a pricey process but Quentin discovered some clever ways to save some pennies.

For his fourth film Kill Bill, Tarantino managed to persuade his friend Robert Rodriguez to compose the score for just a single dollar.

The theme became one of the most iconic in Hollywood history, but it didn’t come without a bit of bargaining.

In return, Quentin had to direct a scene in Robert’s 2005 film Sin City for free.

Jail time… maybe

Quentin has claimed that he has been in and out of prison multiple times, but the New York Post has previously accused the director of lying about it.

Tarantino once told Paris Voice: “I spent eight days in the county jail on traffic warrants once. At first I thought: ‘Wow, I’m going to pick up some great dialogue in here.’ But then you realise what a waste of time it is, they treat you like an animal and nobody wants to be treated like an animal.”

The director’s biographer Jeffrey Sparrow later claimed that Quentin used the dialogue in True Romance and Reservoir Dogs.

However, according to a New York Post investigation, there are no records to prove that he spent eight days in prison.

The only evidence that was discovered was a conviction in 2000, for which he paid $871 (£710) to avoid spending the eight days in jail for driving without a license, along with failing to appear in court.

Harvey Weinstein

The disgraced Harvey Weinstein executively produced all of Quentin’s films before he decided to make a change for Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood.

Kill Bill star and longtime collaborator Uma Thurman spoke out against Weinstein during the height of the #MeToo movement, as well as his former girlfriend Mira Sorvino.

Quentin also spoke out against Harvey and admitted he “knew enough” about Weinstein’s behaviour.

He said: “I knew enough to do more than I did… I chalked it up to a ’50s-’60s era image of a boss chasing a secretary around the desk. As if that’s okay.”

However, Tarantino didn’t get away unscathed during the #MeToo scandal.

He came under fire when it was revealed that he had persuaded Thurman to take part in a car stunt that was deemed unsafe while filming Kill Bill.

Uma was consequently injured and Quentin branded the incident a “most horrendous mistake”.

The actress has since addressed the issue and defended the director, along with stressing that she has since forgiven him.
