One star of Real Housewives of Toronto has confessed she was inspired by the British Royal Family when splashing out £11million on a castle in Kent.
Ann Kaplan Mulholland ditched her native Canada for the Grade I listed Lympne Castle along with her husband, plastic surgeon Dr Stephen Mulholland.
Though she’ll be living there full time, Ann also plans to open the property to the public and run it as a wedding venue, and the grand opening which took place the same weekend as King Charles III’s Coronation was inspired by the royals.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Ann explained: “I copied King Charles’ outfit and I had one made with the fur and the black dots on it and the cape. I posted it on Instagram and said ‘Who wore it better?'”
She went on: “I think we’re going to take a lot of inspiration from their outfits but be a little bit more fun, because they are limited by what they can wear. We’re going to have a little bit more fun with it.
“We’ll take inspiration from the respect that they have, but also the fun that they have. We can take it a little bit further.”
Ann added: “We had a grand opening with a town crier on Coronation weekend, and he said it would not be good if we didn’t have us all stop and say ‘God save the King.’
“Everyone stopped and said it. In all due respect we’ll take inspiration, but we’ll also respect their positions.”
Lympne has a long line of historical connections, and the original castle dates back to the 1080s when Saint Thomas Becket called it his home.
The property has its own links to musical royalty as well, having played host to The Beatles star Paul McCartney, who recorded an album there with Wings, and Mick Jagger who played a gig nearby.

Ann is now planning to invest a further £15million to renovate the property and bring it up to royal standards.
She’s also in talks with a “major streaming site” to film a reality show along the lines of Escape to the Chateau meets Downton Abbey, documenting her journey of bringing it into the 21st century.
She gushed: “The goal is for each piece, each turn, each encounter to be an experience. I say that if you are going to buy a castle, go all in!”
