Adele has hung around some of the biggest stars on Earth, but the singer said she “s**t” herself after spotting a pop icon in the crowd at her gig.
The 35-year-old British hit-maker took home the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at the Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Women in Entertainment’ event in Los Angeles on Thursday (December 7). The Grammy winner thanked all the ladies in her life who have supported her Weekends with Adele residency in Las Vegas – ranging from Barbara Streisand to her gran.
But Adele had a TMI moment and candidly revealed that one person in the crowd made her “really, really nervous,” to the extent that her bowels nearly gave way. “There’s been one there that I shat myself the whole show,” she told the Hollywood Reporter.

The Hello singer finally lifted the lid and revealed that it was Lady Gaga who nearly gave her the squits. She said that the pair had spent a bit of time together and that she rates her “so hard”.
However, despite their blossoming friendship, Adele started to crumble when spotting her in the crowd, and she struggled to keep her composure during the performance. “I was like, ‘The show’s terrible. It’s rubbish. I’m singing terribly. I’m not funny. My dress is rubbish this week,’” the Oscar-winning singer said.
“I was judging myself. And she’s not like that. But she made me really, really nervous.”
Adele, whose Las Vegas residency began late last year, also let slip another embarrassing anecdote after she blanked one of the biggest country musicians of all time. “I remember one of my first shows I did, Shania Twain came,” she said.
“Because she had a hat on, I walked straight past her and didn’t recognize her until afterwards someone sent me a video. Then I saw her at the Grammys and we were talking about it.”
Meanwhile, Adele also opened up about why she doesn’t want to move back to her native London after relocating to Los Angeles in 2016.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I get really bad seasonal depression, so the weather is good for me. It is strange sometimes, because I’m very British. Because it’s a bit harder for me to go out nowadays, what I love the most about LA is everyone goes to each other’s houses. I like that.”
