Rylan Clark admits bizarre phobia after being 'obsessed' with Monster Munch crisps

Rylan Clark has told how he developed a phobia of Monster Munch.

The 34-year-old, who made his name on The X Factor before hosting Supermarket Sweep and Ready Steady Cook, used to love the crisps.

But he scoffed so many of the snacks he made himself sick of them – and eventually developed a phobia.

The BBC Radio 2 host said: “Growing up, my tastes were savoury.

“Monster Munch once had a free fake tattoo inside every bag. I was obsessed and ate so many that I couldn’t look at them for years.”

Popular Rylan has previously spoken of his childhood struggles.

He said: “When I was growing up, I was chubby, ginger and gay – I only needed glasses to have the set.

“I’ve changed my face so much over the last 10 years: the structure, the colour. I’ve had Botox and fillers, as well as a few other procedures, and I dye my hair and beard black.”

The TV star used to scoff them all the time, but he had too much

It comes after Rylan was left mortified when comedian Michael McIntyre exposed his dating habits on his TV show last month.

Rylan appeared on Michael’s Big Show and took part in the Send To All segment, where the comedian steals a celeb’s phone and sends an embarrassing message to all of their contacts.

Rylan was horrified after his dating profile details were made public

Rylan confessed to deleting some of the content from his phone ahead of the show, including his screensaver.

But the former X Factor star realised he forgot to remove his dating profile, which gave Michael a cheeky idea.

“I’ve just spotted something I’ve forgot to remove,” Rylan said as Michael showed his home screen to the audience.

The Big Brother star looked rather red in the face and covered his face with his hand in humiliation.

Rylan is on the look out for love

Michael quickly spotted the app in question, asking: “Is it Hinge, the dating app?”

The stand-up proceeded to have a nose through Rylan’s profile, revealing that Rylan’s job said “Host at TV.”

Rylan looked horrified as Michael scrolled through his pictures, with the BBC presenter attempting to defend his dating profiles.

He admitted: “You know when you join these things, because I am single man now, and I thought I’ll get with the programme and do what every else does and try this out, but it says you have to add a certain amount of photos.”
