S Club 7's Rachel Stevens 'heartbroken' as she addresses Paul Cattermole's death

S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens has shared a sweet tribute to her bandmate Paul Cattermole following his tragic death aged 46.

The singer was found dead at his home earlier this month, just weeks after the band announced their plans for a reunion tour.

Paul’s bandmates Jo O’Meara and Tina Barrett spoke out for the first time earlier today (April 11) since the star’s death was announced, with Rachel, 45, the latest bandmember to pay tribute.

The actress shared a snap of Paul from the band’s early days on Instagram, telling fans how he would “light up any room” before admitting they are “heartbroken” over his passing.

She penned: “Thank you so much for all your beautiful messages of love and support. The out pouring of love for our Paul has been so incredibly special and has meant so much.

“I hope he knew how loved he was. Such a kind, gentle and sensitive soul with the most incredible energy and such a wild free spirit. He would light up any room.

“We are heartbroken but so grateful for the memories we all shared. An absolute shining star who we will love and miss always. RIP darling Paul.”

Earlier today, Jo, 43, opened up about feeling “utterly devastated” at her friend’s unexpected passing.

After thanking fans for their support, she wrote in view of her 52,500 Instagram followers: “This has been utterly devastating, and I am totally shocked and heartbroken. We have lost someone so incredibly special to us all, and there is a huge sense of sadness that will never go.

“Paul will forever be a huge part of our lives, and I will forever treasure the memories we made! I will love you always Paul, God bless you my darling, Rest in forever Peace. Love JoJo.”

While Tina also paid tribute to the late star and shared a snap of the band on stage alongside a sweet poem dedicated to Paul.

The poem read: “Paul Cattermole. A shining star. Full of character and life. His flame burnt so bright. A rebel without a cause. A free spirit. A true force.

“While strumming the guitar, he reached for the stars. Farewell sweet Paul, your star shines so bright, forever in our hearts. Sleep well and goodnight”.

The singer signed off the post by saying: “Miss you Cattermole love Tina”.
