One Squid Game: The Challenge contestant has confessed that women “had an advantage” in the gruelling Netflix game show that was “like a prison”.
Louisa Warwick, player number 166, made it past Red Light, Green Light and into the Dalgona cookie challenge on the show – and confessed that stars were “stripped back to basics” when it came to life in the communal dorms. Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, she explained that stars ate approximately 800 calories per day.
The recommended daily amount for men is 2,500, while 2,000 are advised for women, according to the NHS.

Louisa said: “The guards would come out three times a day with meals in a small metal tin, with a spork. For breakfast it was a water based oatmeal – very very basic – and for lunch it was some rice with some peas, carrots and hard balls of chicken. For dinner it was a basic stir fry with no flavouring.
“We were very much stripped back to basics. I think we were probably likely eating under 800 calories a day. The portions were very small. But being a woman, I saw that as an advantage because women were given the same amount of food as men. These strong gym-going men were really suffering on very low calorie diets.”
Elaborating on the conditions, Louisa went on: “We were just in this bizarre bubble with no windows, no cellphones. We were living in this dorm with 197 people in it and we’d all just completed this really difficult task.
“We got given metal water bottles and I used mine as a foam roller – a lot of our bodies were just muscles torn from the previous day, our lips were really chapped so we were using hair conditioner as lip balm. We were just making do with what we could. It did feel like a prison because we were in matching outfits!”
But she doesn’t regret her Netflix experience – and says she knew what she was signing up for. Louisa continued: “We were given a very thorough contract to read over. It alluded that it would not be a walk in the park, that there would be tough conditions.

“I went in thinking, ‘This is going to be tough, I need to put my athlete’s hat on and just crack on with it.’ So I did.”
But with cameras set up in the toilet and shower cubicles, players were being watched at all times. The cold temperatures filming games in British January also didn’t make the experience a pleasant one – with several players allegedly suffering injuries.
