Strictly Come Dancing fans were baffled on Friday night, as It Takes Two spin-off host Janette Manrara was replaced by a rarely seen co-star – Neil Jones. In hilarious scenes, ‘Janette’ stormed on stage wearing a stunning black pantsuit with a plunging neckline.
But when the cameras zoomed in, fans were quick to notice it was professional dancer Neil in a wig and make-up. As the voiceover announcer said: “Please welcome your host, Janette Manrara!” fans were left baffled.
“Evening all, and welcome to It Takes Two: The Revenge! Thrown a little sequel gag in there for you, because it’s Movie Week, innit,” Neil told the waiting audience. “Tonight we’ve got a couple of old turns who have all been dancing to some banging soundtracks…”

Just then the real Janette appeared from the wings, interrupting her co-star as she fumed: “Hang on, hang on, hang on! So much for getting a long weekend off. Neil, if you’re not going to do the accent then I might as well do the show myself!” She then ordered: “Go on, get out of here!” and a dejected Neil walked off as Janette questioned: “What’s the point of having a Movie Week stunt double if he can’t even do the doubling?” Neil then disappeared for the rest of the show.
He’s rarely been seen of late, missing out on various group dances after welcoming his baby daughter with partner Chyna Mills. Janette confirmed he’d gone “back to dad duties” straight after his new presenting gig.
Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – baffled fans made their thoughts known, with one penning: “LOL Neil!” Another echoed: “Neil dressed as Janette LOL.”
Somebody else said: “Neil dressed as Janette? I would love to see that!”

It comes after Neil welcomed his baby girl, with Chyna announcing the news via Instagram with the caption: “Our hearts are so full.” Neil echoed: “She’s everything,” with a white love heart emoji.
Neil has been left without a celebrity partner on Strictly yet again this year due to his new daddy duties, amid his whirlwind romance with Chyna. Dating rumours between the pair only started in August 2022, and by December they’d moved in together.
In April 2023, they shocked the nation with the news that they were engaged and expecting a baby. Neil told OK! Magazine that he was planning to propose even before the positive test, and thought: “This is brilliant, everything is coming together.”

Speaking of expecting a baby, first-time dad Neil said: “We just can’t wait so everything is ready everything is prepared, it’s one of those things where I’ve got so many nieces and nephews, 11 already! I’m used to kids, so I’m like – here we go!”
He even shared some of Chyna’s pregnancy cravings, admitting: “She loves ice pops. She loves those. Never before, but she does now. Also steak bakes from Greggs! Now they’re like two things like ‘I need’. She’s carrying well. If you walked behind her you wouldn’t even know she’s pregnant.”
