Strictly viewers say ‘not surprised’ as second celeb gets booted from BBC competition

Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kanda said her goodbyes to the show after she became the second celebrity to get the boot.

The glitzy BBC One show was back for another instalment on Sunday night (October 8) for the second results show of the series. And for one couple – their Strictly journey was over.

Radio presenter Nikita Kanda and partner Márquez faced Love Island star Zara McDermott in the second dance-off, after failing to impress on Saturday (October 7). Both couples took to the dance floor to perform their routines.

But it was Zara who won the votes which meant it was time for Nikita to hang up her dancing shoes. Viewers watching the show at home soon shared their thoughts, on X, formerly known as Twitter.

And it seems some saw Nikita’s elimination coming. One viewer said: “I predicted Nikita. She really tried, but was very wooden. Anyway it’ll give Gorka more time with his family.”

Another added: “Not surprised. I kinda saw it coming.” A third quipped: “At least Gorka will now get the chance to spend the time with his new baby in future weeks.”

A fourth also mused: “Really gutted for Nikita. Definitely the weaker dancer of the two but you could tell she was really passionate about improving. She can be proud of herself anyway.”

Nikita said her goodbyes

When asked by Tess about their time on the show, Nikita tearfully said: “I don’t want to leave yet, I feel like I’ve let him down. I’ve had the best time and I love all my Strictly family, I’m going to miss you all. This has been a dream come true, I’m so grateful.

“I’ve got to say the biggest thank you to Gorka, he has been the biggest support and I’ve had the best time ever.” Gorka was then asked by Tess about Nikita overcoming her nerves and how proud he is of her, he said: “I am beyond proud of her.
