Viewers of ITV’s The Chase were left shocked at a savage jibe on Tuesday’s edition (17 October) of the game show.
Bradley Walsh presented the midweek instalment of the long-running quiz programme as four new contestants tried their luck to beat today’s genius. Barrister Shaun Wallace, also known as the Dark Destroyer, took to the podium to see if he can outsmart four new players.
But during the shows recording, he couldn’t help but take a cheeky swipe at the presenter of the show. 51-year-old artist and illustrator Justin from Manchester, 27-year-old team coach Rihanna from Liverpool and 34-year-old retail worker Matthew from Leeds were among the personalities to compete to win a cash prize.

But it was the third contestant to compete, 62-year-old Nicola – a retired head of compliance from Nottingham – who got more than she bargained for as she stepped forward to try and win the cash prize.
Although she answered a few questions correctly, she only chose the lower offer of £1,000. As Shaun made his way across the arch and into the hot seat, he made sure to issue a sharp jibe at his TV colleague.
Greeting Nicola, he exclaimed: “You and Brad would work well together. You playing the Cello, him playing the fool!”, which was met with giggles on the set. Viewers took to X – formerly known as Twitter – in droves as they were left open mouthed by the savage remark.
