The Chase’s Bradley Walsh has revealed that whenever he makes a mistake on the show lawyers get involved
The ITV host finished the show by asking both the contestants and The Chaser a set of questions under a two-minute time limit.
This is where how accurately and quickly Bradley speaks comes into play as a major contributing factor.

The Final Chase is almost always filmed in one go, however, but there have been occasions when it has needed to be stopped and re-started due to him stumbling on a question.
The decision to do this is made by lawyers who are always on hand to make sure the show is filmed fairly.
Brad told Radio Times: “If there is a slight misread, I am stopped immediately – bang – by the lawyers.
“We have the compliance lawyers in the studio all the time. What you have to do is go back to the start of the question, literally on video tape where my mouth opens – or where it’s closed from the previous question – and the question is re-asked. It is stopped to the split second.”
He explained that this meant no time is ever lost for either the contestant or the Chaser.
It takes Bradley on average 3.6 to 4 seconds to ask a question, which is pretty fast.
Bradley does his best to ask the questions clearly and concisely and says he is hyperaware of how speedy he needs to be.
He also explained that he has to make sure he asks contestants around 18 or 19 correctly answered questions.
Bradley added: “That’s the real banana skin score [that will trip the chasers up]. Once the chasers get in a rhythm there’s no stopping them. They can answer 24, 25 questions in two minutes. We’ve even almost reached thirty.”
ITV viewers only get to see presenter Bradley Walsh and the contestants on-screen – but there is a big team behind the scenes who look after the legalities.
The show employs an independent professional monitoring company named Beyond Dispute to ensure that the questions are fair, balanced, and selected randomly.
