The Chase's Mark Labbett confirms relationship status and says he's 'appreciating time'

TV brainbox Mark Labbett has confessed he feels happy being single and is in no rush to get into a new relationship, following his marriage split in 2020.

The Chase star, who previously tied the knot to his now ex-wife Katie in 2014 said the popular ITV game show takes up most of his time and he’s away from home 150 days each year for filming.

Due to his intense filming schedule, Mark, 57, said it would be difficult to squeeze a relationship in too as work seems to consume the majority of his time.

“Right now I’m really appreciating my time.

“I’ve just had two weeks off in the glamourous resort of Rotherham, where I’ve been staying in my flat and I can just put the sport on, watch the films I wanted to watch, play computer games, had a go even on FIFA and I just loved it.”

As well as this, Mark who is often referred to as The Beast on the popular daytime show said he is enjoying spending time with his young son who just discovered Harry Potter.

Talking openly, the TV personality said he is “enjoying life and loving being a father”.

Mark called time on his relationship with Katie after enjoying an open marriage with her for six years.

He decided to end the marriage with his second cousin after he found out that she had been cheating on him with another man for more than a year.

The couple also blamed their 27-year age gap and life together during lockdown for their relationship woes.

Since his split, Mark has been embracing his new physique after losing an incredible 10st through diet and exercise alone.

Sharing insight into his weight loss journey, he previously said: “I think the diabetes may have helped because I eat a lot less. I drink a lot more fluids.

“And looking after a five year old during lockdown didn’t help. The amount of times I collapsed in a heap! Plus I’m so busy these days,” he added.
