This Morning’s Holly Willoughby ‘lines up’ new co-host after Phillip Schofield feud

This Moring presenter Holly Willoughby is reportedly “lining up Alison Hammond to be her new co-host” on the popular daytime show.

The ITV show has been thrown into chaos over the last few weeks as news of Holly’s alleged behind-the-scenes feud with co-host Phillip Schofield rumbles on.

Due to their backstage fall-out, it has now been reported that the mum-of-three could be teamed up with a brand new co-host as insiders claim that Phillip, 61, could soon be on his way out.

The Daily Mail recently reported that “Holly wants her new best friend” to join her on the show.

In addition to this, the publication also claims that “Holly has told her bosses of her wish and ITV agree.”

Despite the fact bookies previously tipped Dermot O’Leary as a frontrunner to host the show after Phillip admitted that things hadn’t been easy between himself and Holly, Alison also shares a close bond with Holly and the pair work well together.

Alison usually hosts the magazine-styled show on Fridays with Dermot but has presented alongside Holly in the past when Phillip was away.

But Phillip isn’t the only one who could be in the firing line as This Morning’s boss Martin Frizell could also be facing the chop, according to staff — as ITV attempts to revamp the show.

However, according to The Sun, those working on the daytime show say they understand that Holly, 42, will be safe.

A source told the publication: “This Morning is preparing for some seismic changes this summer — and Phil is lined up as the first major name for the chop when his contract expires this summer.

Sources claim that Phillip may not be back in September

“It’s highly unlikely he’ll be back in September.

“Plans are being drawn up for a new look This Morning and, at the moment, Phil is not featuring in them. He has worked on the show for over two decades. Many feel it is time for some fresh blood,” they added.

Phillip joined the well-loved ITV series back in 2002 replacing former host John Leslie to present alongside Fern Britton.
