Tom Cruise is known for tackling his own stunts in his Hollywood blockbuster movies as he rakes in billions on the big screen.
But the Daily Star has learned that the actor also has some rather unusual requests when it comes to filming action movies – custom made thongs.
Tom adopted this unique underwear approach following discomfort during physically demanding scenes.
His roster of daring solo stunts, showcased in iconic films like Mission: Impossible, Days of Thunder, and Oblivion, has solidified his reputation as a bona fide action legend.

According to our insider, the 61-year-old swears by these undergarments for the ultimate combo of “comfort and flexibility.”
The superstar and staunch Scientologist is “all about G-strings meticulously crafted from soft, stretchy materials,” said our source.
The answer lies in his insatiable thirst for freedom when defying gravity in action-packed sequences.
“Hardly a film goes by without Tom engaged in some gravity-defying tumble or audacious backflip from skyscraper heights.
“Over the years it’s taken its toll and he had his wardrobe department rustle him up a comfy thong.
“He has no shame in it, he sees it as a way of improving his flexibility as he gets older.”
After experiencing some discomfort, the megastar’s wardrobe wizards whipped up the perfect solution – a comfy thong, tailor-made for his needs.
His busy wardrobe staff are buzzing to ensure he’s got a fresh batch of up to 50 thongs ready to go at all times.
This ensures the star always has a pristine one on hand to ensure maximum comfort.
“Tom insists on having at least 50 things on hand in case one becomes too worn or uncomfortable.
“They have to be thin enough to be flexible but also sturdy enough to make it through the high-powered scenes and not tear,” our insider shared.
The star spoke to Graham Norton about his death-defying stunts, sharing: “The first time of any stunt is nerve-wracking but it also exhilarating.
“I have been told a few times during shooting a stunt to stop smiling.”
This, in turn, has led to Cruise sustaining some injuries.
“I am a very physical actor and I love doing them. I study and train and take a lot of time figuring it all out. I have broken a lot of bones,” he said.
