Top Gear’s Chris Evans in horror crash as two people injured after TukTuk flips

Former Top Gear presenter Chris Evans was involved in a horror TukTuk accident this weekend which left two female passengers injured.

The bad situation comes just days after Chris shared the news that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer.

Radio legend Chris had been driving an automated rickshaw vehicle, reportedly performing “donuts”, when it flipped, according to onlookers at his charity event, CarFest festival.

Two passengers were seen being helped out of the flipped TukTuk after they were left injured.

Luckily, the both of them only had minor injuries in the accident, which happened at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire.

According to The Mirror, an ambulance, which had been based at the event for the day, raced to the scene to help out.

Festival organisers told the publication: “This morning at CarFest the TukTuk which Chris Evans was driving overturned on the track as Chris changed direction.

“The two passengers on board had minor injuries and the CarFest on-site medical team attended to support.

“Richard Hammond was not in the vehicle at any time.”

It’s not the first accident Chris has been involved in, as the car lover crashed a Jaguar that was on loan to Top Gear during his first lap around a track.

He quit the BBC show after just one series – however viewers weren’t keen on him anyway, preferring former host Jeremy Clarkson instead.

Fellow former Top Gear star Richard Hammond was also at CarFest on the day of the accident – but stayed out of trouble himself.

He has a history of accidents, and almost died after a crash filming for Top Gear back in September 2006.

The 52-year-old had been driving a jet car but lost control at 320 miles per hour after a tyre blew out.

More recently, while filming Prime Video show The Grand Tour in June 2017, he had an accident while taking part in a hill-climb in Switzerland.
