Former TOWIE star Joey Turner looks unrecognisable after his hair transplant as he reveals his extensive hair loss and receding hairline
The reality star has chosen to reveal his hidden secret – a successful hair transplant procedure that he had undergone four weeks ago at KSL Clinics’ Kent branch. Determined to address the hair loss issues that were affecting his self-esteem and confidence, he made the decision to act and has since made a huge change to his appearance.
Joey claims he was “very good at hiding my hair” and even took extreme lengths such as buying products to conceal his balding scalp. “I used to fill it in with a powder, like a dark powder. I used to have to try and find a specific brown that matched my hair,” he said.

Acknowledging his decision to share his hair transplant with the public, Joey stated, “Anybody should do something that’s going to give them their confidence back. I think it’s important to have a good relationship with oneself. Everyone is a work in progress.”
The turning point for Joey was during a holiday with his friends. He explained: “I was swimming in the sea while my friends were taking pictures of me from the boat. When I looked at the pictures I was like ‘Who is that?’ I literally couldn’t recognise myself because there were so many gaps in my hair. I was like ‘That’s literally not me. Delete that right now!”
Joey is now one month post-op and will soon start a course of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment to support his newly transplanted hairline. PRP uses our own blood plasma to help promote hair growth and became a popular treatment following Kim Kardashians famous “Vampire Facial”. This will speed up the hair transplant growth which usually takes around 12 to 18 months before seeing the final results and will ensure the best outcome for Joey.
KSL Clinic have been chosen by numerous TOWIE cast members and various reality stars to perform the FUE procedure, including James Lock, Jamie Reed, Greg Shepherd as well Gaz Beadle. Joe Swash and Jack Fincham.
Joey added: “I’ve wanted this now for about nine months, but it feels like an absolute eternity, and I know a few people already who had had a hair transplant. I looked through the Instagram account and I feel like that within itself speaks volume. Pictures tell 1,000 words as they say.

“It was a shock to me because I always had the thickest most golden hair. So for me to notice that my hair started changing was really upsetting.”
