Two men admit plotting to steal Declan Donnelly’s Range Rover in £750k car theft scheme

Two men have pleaded guilty to plotting to steal a number of luxury vehicles, including a Range Rover belonging to Declan Donnelly.

The 45-year-old television presenter’s black vehicle was among around £750,000 worth of high-value vehicles targeted by the group 2021.

Charlie Kavanagh and Ryan Crafts, both 30, were due to go on trial at Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court on Wednesday (September 6).

But the court and Crown Prosecution Service have said both defendants had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal.

Crafts, from Wokingham, Berkshire, and Kavanagh, from Ashford, Surrey, will be sentenced at a later date to be confirmed.

Around 12 people have been charged in relation to the alleged car theft operation, with four pleading guilty in September 2021, and a further man admitting conspiracy to steal last September.

Oliver Hart, 30, admitted to conspiracy to steal a selection of pricey vehicles from between January to July 2021.

He appeared at Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court last September, where he also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to burgle in connection with 11 electric bikes from Velospeed, in Thatcham, Berkshire, between June 14 and June 17 2021.

Hart is one of a number of defendants who have pleaded guilty to charges in relation to the alleged car theft operation.

Those who pleaded have yet to be sentenced but, it’s expected this will take place after the trial has concluded, the court heard.

Police were called to Dec’s London home in the early hours of April 6 2021.

The Saturday Night Takeaway presenter, his wife Ali and their three-year-old daughter were reportedly asleep at the time.

No vehicles were taken.

It comes after Dec and his TV partner Ant McPartlin won Best TV Presenter at the National Television Awards.

The pair have won the going 22 times and were delighted to pick up the silverware at the glitzy showbiz bash held at O2 Arena.
