Vanessa Feltz ‘heartbroken’ by cheating Ben Ofoedu and says ‘family are my strength’

Vanessa Feltz has admitted that she is still heartbroken over her cheating ex-fiance.

The former BBC broadcaster split from her partner of 17 years, singer Ben Ofoedu earlier this year, but in a new interview ahead of her appearances in Celebs Go Dating, she revealed that she still gets lonely.

However the media personality also admitted that her daughters Saskia and Allegra, as well as her grandchildren Zeke, Neroli, Amiel (AJ) and Cecily have helped get her through the tough time.

However, in a new interview before she the first episode of the star dating show airs, she told OK! Magazine that she found solace in spending time in her family.

Vanessa explained: “It’s impossible to be heartbroken when you’re holding a beautiful baby.

“Those pheromones just transfer straight into you, especially if you’re feeling desolate, lonely, heartbroken, sad, betrayed, all that horrible stuff, which I definitely have felt and still feel actually.

“Plus, you have to put a “good” face on because you don’t want to be sad or crying around children.

“This year I’ve found both my grandchildren and children to be my tower of strength and also the best distraction from it all.”

However the TalkTV presenter also credits her friends, colleagues and members of the public for their support.

“This period of my life has also shown me how lucky I am because it turns out I’ve got a lot more friends than I ever realised,” Vanessa admitted.

“People have been fantastically supportive and kind; from those I’ve known for years to even members of the public, everyone has just been incredible.

“I do get thousands of messages every day from people showing kindness. It’s been absolutely astounding. I’m very, very lucky.”

Despite her confident nature, the former Celebrity Big Brother personality revealed that the Channel 4 dating show, might just have been her hardest challenge to date,

When asked about the show, Vanessa exclaimed: “It’s been very exciting and good fun, but let’s put it this way, for the very first couple of days I was terrified.

“I haven’t been on a date for 17 years. But once you do it more and you calm down, it’s fine.”
