Weather presenter get fright of her life after pigeon flies into camera on-air

An American weather forecaster completely lost her composure during a live broadcast when a pigeon flew into the camera.

Florida meteorologist Chelsea Ambriz got the fright of her life after the bird descended on a beach camera during live broadcast.

A viral clip of the broadcast showed the pigeon suddenly swooping toward the weather camera as she was about to give locals the upcoming forecast — leaving her with the huge image of the bird behind her.

The unexpected ambush made the forecaster jump during the segment, which aired on Sunday (May 21).

In the video, she was gesturing to the seaweed along the Hollywood Beach shoreline when the bird flew into view prompting her to move to the side.

“Whoa, my gosh! The bird startled me,” she said.

She would later reveal that from her angle, it felt like the bird was coming at her and her first instinct was to get out of the way, before remembering she was safe inside the studio, Express US reports.

“I wasn’t expecting the bird to come, and from my vantage point, I thought it was going to land on my head,” she told NBC 6.

“My natural reaction was to duck. Then, in a nanosecond, you start thinking: “You’re on TV, you’re at work, keep going, keep going.”‘

The seasoned meteorologist continued on, but after the forecast, she took to Twitter to joke about her scare.

“Brain: ‘bird is going to land on you!’ Reality: I’m in the studio and this is a live camera.

“I definitely did not think it was going to explode like it has. The retweets and the interactions on Twitter have been fun to see, but yeah, it was just a blooper,” she told NBC 6.

She added that it was not her first “close encounter” with pigeons, noting that she was once chased by the birds at the beach.
