A schoolboy was left speechless on the US version of Antiques Roadshow after he learned the true value of a Christmas decoration his dad found.
The young collector, named Dylan, took the unique Santas Sleigh ornament to be appraised on the PBS show with his mum. He explained that his dad had found the festive decoration at a thrift shop in San Diego and paid around $70 (£55) for it.
He said: “He got it at a thrift store in San Diego about two months ago.” His mum added: “My husband collects Santa Clauses of every kind, be it paper, metal or dolls.”

However, the little boy, who has become known for his keen eye by fans of the show, believed that the item was worth hundreds – if not, thousands more. And as it turns out, he was right as the expert explained that the ornament is a Hubley Santa sleigh from 1930.
The expert said: “It was made by Hubley, who is a great toy manufacturer. It’s cast iron, typical, wonderful galloping action of the reindeer.
“This is absolutely 100% original condition. So you have a gem here. It is absolutely one of the finest examples I’ve ever seen.
“It’s got a few flakes and chips, but it’s just really wonderful. It’s made in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and it was made in the 20s and 30s. When you find one this nice, it can kind of fool you. I think you did very well with your $70 purchase.”
He then informed the lad that the item was catually worth around $3,000 to $4,000. Fans were left cackling at the boys response as he was seen sitting back in his chair, wide-eyed and speechless from shock, in the clip which has gained more than 6,000 likes on TikTok.
One viewer said: “I love the kid episodes. AR should do an episode of just kids.” Another added: “That kids like ‘WE’RE RICH’.” A third wrote: “He is so cute!” Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “That boy is a picker for life now.”
