1,000lb Sisters star arrested at zoo for ‘child endangerment and drugs’ after suspicious odours

Stars of 1,000lb Sisters were arrested at a safari park and hit with drug and child endangerment charges, according to police.

Amy Slaton and Brian Lovron were booked after officers discovered drugs inside their vehicle. Deputies from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department were called to Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo after one of Slaton’s party was reportedly bitten by a camel.

On arrival the cops were “immediately” hit by suspicious odours coming from the pair’s vehicle, the sheriff’s department said. Amy, 36, and Brian were arrested at West Tennessee Safari Park on Monday afternoon, as reported by local CBS station WREG.

The couple were were booked at the Crockett County Jail and charged with illegal possession of schedule I and schedule VI drugs and two counts of child endangerment.

It’s unclear what drugs were allegedly found in the vehicle, and no additional details were immediately available.

Slaton and her husband, Michael Halterman, went their separate ways last year after a difficult divorce.

Halterman asked the court to issue a civil restraining order that would require both parties to stay at least 500 feet apart from each other and also 500 feet away from each other’s homes.

Slaton and Halterman eloped in 2017 and then had a proper wedding in 2019, which was captured on the popular TLC program.

Less than a year after Slaton welcomed her son Glenn Allen in July 2022, they parted ways. Her other son, Gage, was born in November 2020.

During Season 1 of 1,000lb Sisters, which premiered in January 2020, Slaton weighed more than 400 pounds. After undergoing gastric bypass surgery, she dropped an additional 136lbs, putting her weigh-in at 275lbs.

Earlier this year, Amy opened up about feeling “blessed” following her jaw-dropping 13-stone weight loss. Post-divorce from Michael Halterman, she admitted to facing struggles but shared that she sought support through an online mental health service that caters directly to clients.
