Danni Menzies recalls red faced moment that her entire “dress blew off” while filming.
The stunning TV star, who has stepped down from her A Place In The Sun role in 2022, spoke to Daily Star in an exclusive interview about one moment that will always remain fresh in mind. She’d suffered an embarrassing wardrobe mishap while the cameras were rolling.
At the time of the incident, Danni had been filming in the Canary Islands, when a very unexpected gust caught her off guard and by surprise. The wind had been so strong that it literally tore her dress from her body.

Speaking to Daily Star, Danni explained: “You know the Canary Islands are really windy. I was once doing a piece to camera and my whole dress blew off.”

She went on to add: “It went right down the middle and we had to go to a shop and get a needle and thread and sew me back into it for the rest of the week.”
The former TV star continued: “These things definitely happen. It was a while ago now and we put it on Instagram because it was actually quite funny.”

After Danni had stepped down from A Place In The Sun she’d hoped that life would be much different from constantly living out of suitcase. The TV personality yearned for a bit more structure when it came to her daily, weekly and monthly routines.
She took a huge gamble and was worried what the future would look like without the stability of her normal TV role. However she was actually pleasantly surprised when her diary started to get booked up.
In spite of the roll of the dice seemingly paying off where work was concerned, Danni was struck by tragedy soon after taking the leap of faith. Sadly, she was hit by a moped and rushed to hospital after being knocked out by the stolen vehicle that was travelling at 30mph.

The Sun reported at the time that two females – who were attempting to steal an unattended moped – lost control and ploughed into innocent bystander Danni. After the frightful ordeal, the TV host took to Instagram to update her fans.
She wrote: “Sooooo…. On Saturday, I was taken out (on the pavement!) by a stolen moped that lost control. Didn’t see it coming, and it’s not looking pretty right now, tbh.”
Speaking about the aftermath of her injuries and how it affected her career, Danni told us: “The accident was hard and I had a lot of time off of work. The industry moves quickly and then I felt like I had a really good month lined up and then the accident happened.
“So I felt like i’ve been trying to get back to where I was and get as busy. And I’m kind of getting there now but it took a while.”
Danni is currently making a number of appearances at the Ideal Home Show in Kensington Olympia from March 22 until April 6. She will delight fans on stage sharing some moments from her time on the Channel 4 show.
