A Place in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton says ‘that would have been helpful’ as buyers make surprise revelation

A Place in the Sun’s property expert Laura Hamilton was left in a bit of a quandry during a latest Corfu hunt.

As the show kicked off, the Channel 4 favourite whisked newlyweds Lisa and Wayne off to check out a possible home in Ipsos. But the pair were far from wowed by the spot, even with its sandy beach just a stone’s throw away.

Lisa let slip: “It’s definitely a younger crowd in this part of the island, we always said we wouldn’t buy anywhere in Ipsos.” Jumping in, a surprised Laura exclaimed: “You didn’t tell me that when we met! That would’ve been helpful.”

Nevertheless, the couple told Laura they’d keep an open mind and agreed to a look around indoors, reports the Mirror.

But the tour wasn’t a success, as Lisa and Wayne seemed unimpressed starting off in the kitchen and lounge area. Wayne chimed in: “This is a little bit disappointing in this area.”

Yet Laura hit back: “You’ve just got to remember, it’s just under £84,000. Obviously, I know your budget is significantly more than that and if there was a two bed with a larger lounge in this area, I would 100% be showing it to you. But, this is literally all I’ve been able to get here for any kind of budget.”

Lisa didn’t hang about and quickly informed the Channel 4 pro that it wasn’t ticking their holiday home boxes.

Lisa and Wayne weren’t impressed with the location

When Laura pondered if they fancied peeping at the outdoor space, they weren’t keen but figured they’d see what else the home had up its sleeve.

Fans of the sun-soaked property series A Place in The Sun were on the edge of their seats when house hunters Lisa and Wayne went from disappointment to triumph. Lisa confessed: “I guess, the inside is too small, no living area and the area’s great for young ones as a rental potential, but I don’t think for us.”

The property guru Laura didn’t mince words, responding: “We’re ruling it out, that’s a no-brainer. Location? Ok, I’m hearing that.”

In the end the pair found their dream holiday home

The showstopping moment came with the unveiling of a dazzling detached house in Acharavi, leaving the couple utterly smitten. Overwhelmed by the place, Lisa gushed: “It’s amazing, really loved it. What you’re getting for your money compared to the others, there’s no comparison.”

After deliberating, they bid £145,000 a cool £8,000 below the asking price but the seller accepted the offer, much to Lisa and Wayne’s joy.

A Place in the Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4 from 4pm.
