In her podcast ‘Exhibit A’, Abbey Clancy offered some candid insights into how her relationship with ex-England footballer, Peter Crouch, functions in the bedroom. During a chat with renowned psychosexologist, Dr Karen Gurney, Abbey stressed: “For me, the connection side is really important.”
The 38-year-old also spoke about the transformation into motherhood, adding: “I know a lot of people say when they have kids they feel differently about themselves and they see themselves as a Mum and maybe their husband doesn’t have that same desire towards them because now they’re mum, they’re not this hot fantasy woman any more.”
However, for Abbey, parenthood seemed to strengthen the romantic bond. She stated: “For me, I think that [the connection] has improved with having kids and being a mum, the connection.”
Dr Karen commented on how the mundanity of day-to-day life could potentially impede one’s sexual appetite, noting that the “drudgery of daily life can knock the enthusiasm for sex out of people”.
In the latter part of the podcast, Abbey contemplated the dynamics of sex post-childbirth, underlining the importance of communication. She quipped: “I think it’s so important even to state the obvious, to go ‘If all these crying kids weren’t here now we would be having sex because I want to have sex with you but we physically can’t.'”, reports the Mirror.
“I remember at one stage I had a cot next to my bed and a new baby in my bed and then my three-year-old at the time would just keep running in the middle of the night.”
Abbey revealed that she and Peter “spoke a lot in those days and I genuinely feel that that got us through it”.
This isn’t Abbey’s first time opening up about her intimate life with hubby Peter. Earlier this year, she credited a ‘miracle pill’, which she dubbed the “female Viagra”, for reviving their sex life.
On the podcast ‘The Therapy Crouch’, which she co-hosts with Peter, she shared: “I was talking to some of the girls, and you know, we’re all getting to a certain age, our hormones are all over the place.”
Abbey mentioned she was suggested a “golden pill” that was “an all-natural supplement for women which helps with an array of things”.
She continued: “And apparently, one of our couple friends, it’s working so well the husband’s like ‘Ah, not tonight babe, I’m exhausted’. It’s been hailed as the female Viagra.”
