Abbey Clancy was left cringing as her pop star was exposed.
The 38-year-old shot to fame as the go-to model in the 2000s. And her marriage to footballer Peter Crouch in 2011 went and cemented the pair as one of the UK’s much-loved showbiz couples.
But the presenter once had a short-lived pop career in the trio band called Genie Queen. And it seems Abbey isn’t a fan of bringing up her pop star past.

The ageless beauty made an appearance on Monday (April 22) on Radio X’s The Chris Moyles Show. Filling in for Chris was Toby Tarrant, who soon left Abbey rather red-faced. So much so, that she dubbed him “cruel.”
Toby said: “I love The Kooks, they’re one of my favourite bands of all time, but not my favourite band of all time though, Abbey Clancy. Because my favourite band of all time is a band from a few years ago.”
He added: “I don’t know if you’ve heard of them, they’re called The Genie Queen – are you familiar with their stuff?”
Abbey fired back: “No. That’s cruel, Toby! For God’s sake.” Keen to know more, Toby quizzed her: “Now, is it The Genie Queen, or is it just Genie Queen? Because Google offered different versions.”
The model explained: “It’s just Genie Queen, or GQ if you want to shorten it.” Toby said: “Okay. Abbey, I can feel you staring into my soul, so I’m just not going to look at you.”
Dominic Byrne co-host chimed in and warned: “She’s going smack you in the mouth.” Toby then added to Abbey: “But you were in a band called Genie Queen, back in the day.”
Not impressed, she replied: “I didn’t realise I was coming on to get stitched up.” Toby then noted how the hosts wanted to talk about her “famous discography.”
She laughed: “Discography, haha!” while Toby said: “You know, ‘Finger Licking,’ for example.”
The station then started to play one of the band’s tunes. Screaming with embarrassment, Abbey proclaimed: “Agh! I can’t believe you’ve done this! You horrible, horrible… This is a remix I’ve never heard.”
She went on: “I’m actually dying right now. You know, if there wasn’t a desk in between us, I’d come and kill you.”
Talking about her pop star beginnings Abbey explained: “Yeah, I’ve always loved singing, I did want to be a popstar back in the day.
“And yeah, I was working in this incredible vintage shop in Liverpool – Bulletproof it was called. And when hot girls come in, I’d just be like, ‘can you sing?’ And Genie Queen was formed.”
Toby then said: “An added bonus. Now, the Liverpool Echo said that you were the next big thing.” Abbey replied: “Clearly the Liverpool Echo were wrong!”
