Alison Hammond has admitted she’ll happily take up the offer of a Tube seat when her fellow commuters think she’s pregnant.
This Morning star Alison made the quip about her travels across London in a chat with Dermot O’Leary on Thursday (April 11). The pair were discussing comments by Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, who said he felt “offended” when people offered him a seat due to his old age (63).
“I still like offering up a seat,” explained Dermot. Alison appeared to initially agree as she told their guest Nick Ferrari on the ITV show: “Sometimes you like to stand up, it’s nice to stand up, you don’t want to sit down all the time.”

When asked by Dermot if she likes to be offered a seat herself, however, the former Big Brother star confessed: “Oh yeah, absolutely, everyone thinks I’m pregnant and I just go yeah, I’ll sit down, I’ll take the seat any day.”
Another guest, Tim Campbell, then suggested that’s because the public is “besotted” with Alison, prompting her to ask: “Do you think? I’ll take that!”
She continued, joking: “And I’ll sit down, and then a pregnant woman stands up!” Later in the episode Alison labelled her co-host a “cheeky monkey” after he admitted to watching her in her dressing room.
When Alison complimented his attire and said he looked like he matched the set, Dermot said he tries to see what Alison wears before the start of the show. Curious, Alison asked whether he was peeking in on her.
And Dermot didn’t hold back on telling her that it was. Dermot said: “I always just now, I always see what you’re wearing.” When Alison asked him how, Dermot said he had his way. He then said he looks at her “through the keyhole”. Alison replied: “Is that what you’re doing? You cheeky monkey!”
Earlier this week it was revealed Alison has landed a major new presenting gig with the show’s rival broadcaster, BBC.
Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend will see her offer a glimpse into the homes and lives of a series of famous faces, according to the Beeb. In a six-part series that will air on BBC One and iPlayer, Alison will get to know each guest over the course of 48 hours, “serving up big laughs, big revelations and a whole load of celebrity realness”.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
