This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has announced she will be taking on a role away from the ITV daytime show.
Alison is set to sprinkle her panto magic once again and her fans are utterly thrilled. This follows her stint in 2023 as part of the “Jack and The Beanstalk” show at the Brummy Hippodrome.
The star declared she adored “every second” of her panto stint last year and is excited to get back on stage. The much-loved telly fave will grace the stage as the Magical Mermaid in this year’s festive offering of Peter Pan.

Alison couldn’t wait to spill the beans to her whopping 1.5 million Insta followers, sharing a glitzy poster for the upcoming extravaganza, and gushing: “I’m back ! ! Peter Pan coming soon to @brumhippodrome @mattslackofficial.”
She didn’t stop there, bubbling over with joy in the official blurb for the production, announcing: “Birmingham….. I’m back! I’m SO excited to return to the Hippodrome this Christmas in Peter Pan as the Magical Mermaid alongside the hilarious Matt Slack.”
Looking back on her last panto role, she mused: “I loved every second of Jack and the Beanstalk last year, we had so much fun, but it went by so fast that I had to come back for another. Birmingham is home to the best audiences, and I can’t wait to see them all in Neverland soon!”
As the excitement builds, Jon Gilchrist, big boss man and Artistic Director at Birmingham Hippodrome, couldn’t hide his glee in snaring Hammond once more, as reported by the Express: “We are extremely excited to welcome back Birmingham legend Alison Hammond to the Hippodrome for our panto this December.”
Echoing the audience’s sentiments from the past year, he added: “The audience reaction to Alison last year was incredible and we know that she is going to be a fantastic addition to the Peter Pan cast as the Magical Mermaid.”
“Panto is such a special time of year, and we love seeing families and friends come together to share in the magic of live performance over the festive season,” he concluded.
Alison finds herself in excellent company on stage as she teams up once again with Matt Slack, who scooped the Best Comic accolade at the UK Pantomime Awards for his stellar act in last year’s Jack and the Beanstalk.
Marking his 11th consecutive year, Slack is set to dazzle audiences at the Birmingham Hippodrome production yet again. The announcement of Alison’s return sent waves of excitement through her fanbase, with many flocking to her Instagram post to express their joy, and even Drag Race icon Michelle Visage couldn’t contain her enthusiasm, writing: “I gotta come see!”
Meanwhile, one of Alison’s fans raved: “So thrilled,” as another echoed, “Yesss already booked.” Other delighted comments included: “AMAZING news,” “That is fabulous” and “Congratulations to you, Queen Alison. And good luck with the show.”
