Alison Hammond shows support to Phillip Schofield after ‘fun day’ as TV return teased

Alison Hammond has shown a public sign of support to her TV pal Phillip Schofield.

The TV presenter took to Instagram again after taking a year off after last year’s controversy. Phillip took to his socials to share an update of him chilling out with his pet pooch.

He captioned a pic of his dog and said: “Now that was a fun day.” Alison backed her former co-star by adding a like to his post.

Phillip, 62, still has his comments turned off at this point but has been posting snaps of his dog all week after posting for the first time in a year on Wednesday.

In the first post, he shared a snap of his dog watching the telly and wrote alongside it: “Thankfully, Alfie is a big @f1 fan.” This post was liked by his daughter Ruby, EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt, Keith Lemon star Leigh Francis and former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher.

This comes after Phillip has been reportedly been considering making a TV comeback. It has been a year since he stepped back from ITV over an “unwise but not illegal” relationship he had with a younger staff member.

A source told The Sun: “Since he left This Morning, Phil has been held up by the support of friends like Ant, Dec, and Alison Hammond. They have all been rallying around him and their support, especially from Dec who is such a good friend, has really helped Phil.

“Some TV executives have been in touch with Phil about a possible return and his friends have told him he should consider it. Phil is still shell-shocked by everything that happened last year and is happy at the moment to focus on rebuilding his life with the support of his friends and family.

“Whether he will make a comeback — whether it’s on TV or radio — is still undecided but the offers are there if he wants to pursue them. His friends have told him they will support him all the way.”
