Ant McPartlin distracts fans with outfit he thinks is ‘too much’ – but co-star disagrees

The One Show viewers have been left stumped over Ant McPartlin’s latest ensemble.

The TV favourite joined his pal Declan Donnelly on the BBC show on Thursday (February 22). The Geordie lads were there to discuss Saturday Night Takeaway which kicks off this weekend.

Speaking to hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, Ant and Dec teased what viewers can expect from the new series. The pair have announced that it will be the last Saturday Night Takeaway for a while as they rest the show.

However, on The One Show, it was Ant who got plenty of viewers talking. Watching the show at home, fans couldn’t help but point out Ant’s unique outfit.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts on his outfit. One person said: “Ant’s cardigan [laughing emojis].” Someone else added: “I see Ant has pinched me nans cardigan.” A third quipped: “I love Ant’s cardigan.”

Other fans claimed that the cardigan contained a ‘secret message’. On X, they shared their theory that Ant could have bagged an endorsement deal with fast food chain Burger King – as the colours resemble the uniform.

They wrote: “Good to see Ant’s Burger King partnership is alive and well.” As someone else penned: “Sorry @antanddec but the cardigan is giving Burger King employee style.”

It comes after the Geordie duo opened up about their bond and explained they need a break from Saturday Night Takeaway. Asked about “the most challenging aspect” they’ve had to overcome creatively, Ant told Fault magazine: “I think for any pauses we’ve had, whether we pause Saturday Night Takeaway consciously or when I had a break from TV for a while.

“I think anytime you come back together, you have to almost relearn each other again but because of that, you have a deeper respect for one another and a deeper love for one another.” The stars both turn 49 this year and Dec said they are not the same people they were when they met at 13.
