BBC Breakfast took a frosty turn during the latest instament as presenter Nina Warhust made a joke which suggested her co-host Charlie Stayt was “boring”.
Charlie and Nina were back on the famous red sofa on Friday (January 2), to discuss the latest news headlines. Sharing more light-hearted stories, the pair also spoke about social media site, Facebook which has now turned 20 years-old.

She joked: “Just to let you know Charlie, there’s a boring man group on Facebook that I really enjoy following. Just thought I might share that with you.”
However, Charlie appeared unimpressed and replied: “Ok. You’re point being?”
Nina said: “It might pique your interest.” But Charlie still remained stern and thanked his co-host for her comment.
Seeing the uncomfortable exchange take place, fans headed over to X formerly known as Twitter to share their take, with some stating that Nina’s joke wasn’t very nice. One fan said: “Well that was awkward @NinaWarhurst failing to be funny by basically calling Charlie Stayt boring.”
Another said: “Offt! ‘Old man’s Facebook page’ comment went down like the Titanic!”
A third chimed: “That wasn’t very nice Nina, don’t think Charlie found that comment very funny.” Meanwhile a fourth added: “Charlie Stayt and Nina Warhurst virtually unwatchable this morning. So many awkward pauses, such a lack of chemistry. Not at all slick.”
The news comes after fans continue to question regular host Naga Munchetty’s absence after she was replaced by Nina and Rachel Burden since last week. But viewers have been left undecided about the change and have taken to X to complain.
Sharing their thoughts, one viewer said: “No Naga Not watching this rubbish.” Another added of Naga’s replacement: “Has anybody told the holiday presenter it’s aimed at adults.
Whil a third called Naga’s replacement, Nina to be on the show more often. The fan wrote: “@BBCBreakfast can we have Nina on more often please.”
