BBC Gladiators found itself in chaos after a shocking injury took place during the first episode of the brand-new series.
The hit BBC programme first kicked off in 1992 and made household names of a string of athletic stars including the likes of Wolf, Hunter and Jet. The brand new version hosted by Bradley Walsh and his son Barney had fans glued to their screens as they saw members of the public take on a new set of Gladiator stars.
But things took a devastating turn for one contestant Finley, who suffered a gruesome injury during the show. Trying to take on several Gladiators at once, Finley was not in a good way when he was tackled with immense force.

As referees and medics were rushed into the arena, Finley confirmed that he had sustained an injury. He said: “I twisted my knee. I’m going to come back and recover. This is not the end for me, you’ll see me again.”
The contestant was then escorted backstage to be looked after by the medical team. Before his departure, Finley assured the audience that he would be back.
After he was assessed by doctors, it was revealed to viewers that Finley was well enough to continue. While being cheered on by the studio crowd, the rising star took on the Hang Tough against Gladiator, Legend.
Following his injury and his brave return, fans on social media had quite a lot to say. Taking to X formerly known as Twitter viewers shared their opinions.
One social media user joked: “Injury on the first show. That’s #Gladiators alright. Now the crowd just wants blood. Teatime blood.”
Another said: “The medical team cleared him to carry on, but that’s a dangerous thing to say, it could have made his injury a lot worse. Anyway, enough about Finlay in #Gladiators, Manchester City substituted their goalkeeper.”
A third chimed: “The #Gladiators injury is unlocking a memory from back in the day when they’d just stick the stand by contender in last minute.” A fourth penned: “We have a pantomime villain and an injury already. #Gladiators is back.”.
