BBC Morning Live’s Gethin Jones got all teary-eyed in a heartfelt video he posted on the show’s Twitter feed, where he opened up about the emotional release of crying.
The 46-year-old TV presenter was seen wandering around town, hand over his mouth, as he admitted to his followers: “It’s a lot. Just having a few tears, just to make myself feel better because I’ve been out and about asking people about crying, cry-maxing. Are you a ‘cry-maxer’? Does crying make you feel good?”
He then shared with his fans that recent research suggests having a good sob can actually be beneficial, helping to relieve stress and pent-up emotions. He queried emotionally: “Does that work for you? Or are you someone who bottles it up inside? Please let us know. I’ve got to go.”

The clip soon sparked reactions, with viewers chiming in with their personal takes on the power of tears, reports the Express.
One user responded: “I love a cry. I always feel much better afterwards. It’s such a release and I have much clearer thoughts after a cry followed by some deep breaths!!!” Another shared a humorous anecdote: “Realised I cry too much when someone on the TV was crying and the dog rushed over because she thought it was me!”
And a third couldn’t help but tease Gethin, commenting: “This made me cry with laughter sorry Geth.” Gethin himself couldn’t resist re-posting the video on his own profile, seemingly making light of his own tearful moment.
He captioned the snapshot video: “Marks out of 10 for my acting?” Gethin’s emotional reveal surfaces just days after he made public getting a spontaneous tattoo in tribute to his BBC co-worker and Dragons’ Den star, Sara Davies.
The business tycoon hosted an extravagant 40th birthday party, named FortyFest, which treated guests to festival-like celebrations filled with a bar, picture booth, dessert bars, and a merry zone. Nevertheless, it appears Gethin had some lingering regrets post-fete as he posted an image of his forearm stamped with the words “S.D 40.”
Posting the photo on his Instagram story, he commented: “Seemed like a good idea at the time.” Sara reposted the snapshot as she exclaimed: “When someone loves you enough to tattoo you on their arm…”
