Former BBC Radio presenter Carl Kingston has died following a short illness.
The broadcaster worked on lots of radio stations during his impressive career, including BBC Radio Humberside, Radio Caroline and Viking Radio. He worked in the business for over 50 years and helped the likes of Radio X’s Chris Moyles get their big break in the industry.
Carl’s son Andrew announced his dad’s death in a post on Facebook and admitted it had come as a shock. Andrew wrote: “I know that he had so many friends around the world, very many that we don’t know. He lived for the radio and did what he loved right to the end.”
