BGT fans baffled as Alesha Dixon’s ‘twin’ appears on ITV show – but there’s a twist

Britain’s Got Talent viewers were left baffled after spotting what looked like Alesha Dixon’s twin on stage.

The ITV entertainment show returned on Saturday (April 20), with Alesha back on the panel alongside fellow judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli. A bizarre act saw four singers belting out a track from The Greatest Showman – but there was a twist.

Using technical trickery, the performers’ bodies stayed the same but their own heads were replaced with those of the judges, so it looked as if Simon and co were singing. However, even when the performance was over and the singers were themselves again, many viewers could not get over the likeness between Alesha and the girl playing her.

Several took to X, formerly Twitter, to discuss the similarities between them. Some thought they were so alike that they could even be twins.

“Anyone else think that girl with pink hair is the spitting image of Alesha,” one person remarked. Another viewer said: ““That girl is @‌AleshaOfficial twin sister.”

“Take away the AI and she’s still the spitting image of Alesha,” one viewer pointed out. “The woman in purple does already look like Alesha,” remarked another.

Others were blown away by how well the woman played the TV star. “The Alesha woman has certainly nailed her characteristics with the shoulder thing,” said one. Another agreed: “The one doing Alesha is spot, she’s always dancing about on the panel.”

The judges were also wowed by the act, which had Simon as circus ringleader, Bruno in an athletics leotard and Amanda as the bearded lady. But not all viewers were happy about the use of AI in the audition.

“AI is not talent and was only used to distract from the mediocre vocals,” sniped one, as another claimed it used “very little creativity”. Someone else chimed in: “First act and they’re using AI not sure where the talent is. the world is cooked if this is funny.”

However, someone else insisted that it was a “wonderful and innovative use of AI .”
