BGT’s Jonathan Antoine unrecognisable 12 years on from show after epic weight loss

Britain’s Got Talent star Jonathan Antoine has totally transformed since he wowed viewers on the ITV show.

The singer was a contestant back in 2012, as half of the classical duo Jonathan and Charlotte, and the pair made it to the final. But more than a decade later he looks totally different after changing up his lifestyle and losing weight.

Recent snaps on Instagram show the star looking sleeker than ever, but still with his trademark curls. And fans have said he looks “radiant”.

Jonathan opened up about his lifestyle changes in 2022, telling the Mirror: “This year I’ve made an active choice. I’ve felt I’ve lacked the discipline a lot.

“When I was out in America its fast food everywhere. I was in a terrible state in the start of the year and I’ve been able to claw my way back doing light exercise.

“I’m a very big fella so heavy exercise would just tear me up. I’m working my way up, thinking about what I eat because that is important.” He added that taking control was “very gratifying”.

Fans have been full of praise for the tenor’s transformation, telling him on Instagram how “great” he looks. “Love these pictures,” one of his followers said after one set of snaps, adding: “Your personality shining through.”

In recent years, Jonathan has also shared with fans that he has been diagnosed with autism. “I got my diagnosis in 2022, not long after my 27th birthday, and for a short while fell into it like a daydream,” he said on Instagram.

“The re-contextualisation of a life already lived is a scary thing to reckon with, but those things done are already set – there is no going back from here!” added the star, who was just 17 when he auditioned for Simon Cowell and co.

“I still don’t know what exactly I have to contribute to the broader discussion, I’m in the process of finding out what it all means to me in the first place, but perhaps the naiveties of that process are novel enough to write down, so I try regardless.”
