Netflix and Shondaland have spilled the tea on Bridgerton’s next season, revealing that it’s all about Benedict Bridgerton’s quest for love.
The hit period drama is set to give us a glimpse into the life of the second eldest Bridgerton sibling, played by Luke Thompson, as he navigates the choppy waters of romance. Despite his reputation for being a bit of a free spirit, it looks like Benedict’s about to get seriously smitten in the upcoming episodes. With his brothers already hitched, it’s time for the chill Bridgerton bro to step into the spotlight.
The streaming giant hasn’t given away too much, but they’ve let slip that Benedict will be utterly enchanted by a mysterious Lady in Silver at his mum’s fancy dress bash. Under the helm of new showrunner Jess Brownell, the fourth instalment is gearing up to shoot its eight fresh episodes in London, though they’re keeping schtum on the exact start date.
While we’re all on tenterhooks for an official release date, whispers are going around that 2025 could be the year we dive back into the regency romp. Netflix whipped fans into a frenzy by dropping the bombshell on X, the platform we used to call Twitter.
They teased the eager fanbase with a cheeky clip and a caption that couldn’t be clearer: “It’s official next season is Benedict season on #Bridgerton! ! ! ” (sic), reports the Express.
The teaser gave us a sneak peek at high society’s finest getting their hands on the latest gossip from none other than Lady Whistledown, hinting that “Next season’s most compelling match will be unmasked. Welcome to the marriage mart, Benedict.”
Benedict is caught on tape seemingly gearing up to charm a potential love interest as he rehearses: “I’m honoured to accept your acceptance.” We’re then treated to a glimpse of him showing off his dance moves at a grand affair, alongside the intriguing confession: “It feels right now that the next thing may change me entirely.”
Cut to a more casual scene: Luke in everyday attire opening his door, while a voice questions from off-screen: “I hear we’re fitting you for suit.” To which a baffled Luke answers: “I already have an outfit for tonight.”
The off-camera voice chuckles, clarifying: “Oh no, it’s not for tonight, it’s for the masquerade ball.” Cracking a smile, Luke cheekily responds: “Oh, well in that case, come on in.”
Thrilled Bridgerton buffs swarmed the comment section, eager for scoop on the fourth series.
