Once a golden buzzer is pressed, the act gets an automatic place in the live semi-finals, competing for a chance to win a life changing £250,000 cash prize and a spot on the bill of the Royal Variety Performance. It comes after reports that judge Simon leapt into action when a young performer suffered a nasty fall during an audition.

The music mogul reportedly rushed from his seat onto the stage when a member of a dance troupe crashed into the wings of the stage .The dancer’s alleged accident occurred when a move went wrong during the performance at Salford’s Lowry Theatre in Salford. Medics rushed onto the scene and filming was halted for an hour.

A spokesman for Britain’s Got Talent said: “The health and safety of our contestants is of the utmost importance. A member of a dance group sustained an injury whilst auditioning and was seen by medics on set as a precaution.”
