Britain’s Got Talent fans are heartbroken after the tragic death of the talented young singer.

Emma Jones, 32, put up a fierce battle was cancer but her sad death has now been confirmed. The jobless vocalist from Cumbria, was just 23 when she rose to fame on BGT in 2015.

She amazed and astounded with her rendition of Andrea Bocelli’s Ave Maria. At the time, Judge David Walliams was left in awe, stating: “You should be confident Emma very few of us could ever sing like that” and Simon Cowell branded her “fantastic”.

Amanda Holden further praised Emma’s audition as “one of the most beautiful auditions that [the judges had seen] all day.” Emma’s journey on the show took her to the semi-finals, where she shared a poignant video saying, “I live on my own. I don’t like it as such, well, I hate it actually.

“Growing up I wasn’t confident at all. My first audition was so nerve-wracking.”, reports OK!. She added: “I couldn’t believe I got a standing ovation. It was the best day in my whole, entire life.”

In the semis, she performed Sarah Brightman’s Pie Jesu, accompanied by a quartet playing guitars. Following her performance, Alesha Dixon remarked: “It’s so lovely to see you coming out of your shell,” and Simon Cowell added: “It was fantastic.”

However, a heartbreaking post on Emma’s Facebook page revealed that she passed away at the Cumberland Infirmary on Valentine’s Day this year, after her fight with cancer. She was only 32 years old.

Tragic news hit the fans of Britain’s Got Talent as a notice on Emma Jones’ page announced her untimely death: “I’m sorry to have to tell you that Emma Jones has died.”

The message went on: “She died on Valentines Day after being diagnosed with multiple organ cancer. The doctor thinks it began as ovarian cancer and spread to other organs.”

Devastated followers poured out their grief online. One heartbroken fan posted, “So sad Emma passed away. It breaks my heart, especially realising she suffered with inner pain and deep insecurities. Such a precious, sensitive girl.”

Another lamented, “I remember her performance of Ave Maria. I am saddened to hear of her cancer. We loved her in America as well.”

A third admirer shared their sorrow, saying, “R.I.P Emma. Your audition remains one of my all time favourite auditions of all time. It was a privilege to have heard you sing.”

Emma’s former partner John Hastings, speaking to the News and Star, paid tribute to her unforgettable “personality, smile and gorgeous voice.” John fondly remembered Emma, telling the publication: “As a person she was lovely, everyone wanted to be with her,” and recounted how after her TV appearance, during a night out in Carlisle, everyone was eager to “get a selfie with her – even Collabro when they met at Carlisle’s Christmas festival in 2015.”
