Caitlyn Jenner’s brutal two-word response to O.J. Simpson’s death slammed by fans

Caitlyn Jenner has been slammed by fans following her reaction to O.J. Simpson’s death.

The 74-year-old reality star, who is the ex of Kim Kardashian’s mum Kris Jenner, has broken her silence following the news that the NFL legend had passed away aged 76. In view of her 3.3million followers, she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Good riddance #OJSimpson.”

Her message has since been slammed by fans. One fan replied: “This is heartless.” Another added: “Why would you say this?” A third person wrote: “Excuse me?”. OJ’s family broke the news via social media on Thursday (April 11) that he had lost his battle with prostate cancer.

A statement read: “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace – the Simpson Family.” Simpson’s prostate cancer diagnosis was revealed back in February, with his family confirming that he was undergoing chemotherapy.

The NFL icon is best remembered for being accused – and controversially acquitted – of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994. Despite being cleared of wrongdoing, Simpson’s reputation was completely tarnished by the trial and he spent the remaining years of his life struggling to pick up the pieces of his broken life.

The Kardashian star Kim previously spoke about the brutal aftermath of the infamous trial on her family. Kim’s father, Robert Kardashian, was a close friend of Simpson and was part of his legal defence team when he was charged with the double murder. Kris, was Nicole’s best friend and believed Simpson committed the murder.

In an episode of David Letterman’s Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Kim revealed that the trial “tore my family apart.” The SKIMS owner and her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, were teenagers at the time and were torn between which divorced parent they would side with.

“We didn’t really know what to believe or whose side to take as kids, because we didn’t want to hurt one of our parents’ feelings,” she said “It tore my family apart, I’d say, for the whole time of the trial.” Decades after the “trial of the century,” Kim said she’s tried not to publicly share her thoughts on whether or not she believed Simpson was innocent.

“I’ve never expressed how I’ve felt about that because I just respect his children,” she told Letterman at the time. After the case, Kim’s father, who died from esophageal cancer in 2003, expressed doubts over Simpson’s innocence and eventually cut all time with him. He added that if he had known that he and his family would have received death threats for their involvement in the case, he would have never taken it on.
