ITV bosses are reportedly set to sign off another series of Celebrity Big Brother following its successful comeback earlier this month.
The show had been absent from our screens for more than six years after it was axed by its then broadcaster, Channel 5. ITV made the decision to resurrect it – as well as the civilian edition – in 2023, both of which proved hugely popular with viewers.
The broadcaster is said to be “very pleased” the format was as well received as it was in its heyday, with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best taking over from where Emma Willis left off. David Potts was crowned the first winner of the star-studded reboot earlier this month.

Now, producers are said to be “excited” at the prospect of securing the signatures of even bigger names for the celebrity house. As with the most recent series, the civilian edition will commence in the autumn, and it looks like CBB could return in the New Year.
An insider told Mail Online: “ITV bosses are very happy with the way the first Celebrity Big Brother series was received by the public. It was incredibly popular with viewers and diehard fans of the show, thanks to the brilliant casting of stars such as Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.
“Nothing has formally been commissioned yet but everyone is looking to go again and the search is already on for the perfect housemates.”
CBB’s launch night on March 4 saw 3.8 million viewers tune in across all platforms – it’s biggest audience in more than a decade. The show has since been streamed a further 14 million times.
Its spin off, Late and Live, was ITV2’s top performing programme every night it aired. And a casting call yesterday (March 26) requested that those wishing to take part in the next civilian series must be available for up to eight weeks of filming later this year.
It’s been suggested that contestants will spend two of these weeks in quarantine or hiding before the show begins to ensure all details surrounding the show remain as secret as possible. The series is then expected to run around 42 days as it did in 2023 – much shorter than the show’s Channel 4 days which editions air for up to a huge 93 days.
