CBB’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu hits out at ‘unhealthy’ fans who ‘literally live through me’

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has shared her concerns for some of her “unhealthy” followers who message her “every day”.

The Celebrity Big Brother housemate won over the hearts of the nation when she was catapulted to fame after she won Love Island in 2021. Since winning the show, the brunette beauty has gone on to appear in several TV shows, including The Weakest Link and The Traitors US.

But while the 29-year-old often thanks her fans for their continued support, she admitted that is can sometimes be weird seeing the same names pop up in her DMs each day. Speaking to The Mirror before she entered the infamous house, she admitted that their love for her has quickly become worrisome.

She told the publication: “There’s certain fans for instance that, they literally live through me. They write to me every day and I’m like, ‘Do these people not have lives?’

“I’m like, it’s crazy, they’re always on Instagram 24/7, talking to me or having an opinion or just anything I do, they do.” The former Dancing On Ice contestant also said: “I love the fact you support me but this isn’t healthy guys, this is not not healthy.”

It comes after Ekin-Su opened up to telly icon Fern Britton about her life in the public eye. She told the former This Morning presenter that while she paints a smile on her face for work purposes, she often leaves events early and cries.

She confessed: “People look up to me as this confident person but I feel like there is such a vulnerable side that I hide, that I don’t show to the public and it’s normally the side where I do an appearance and then afterwards I’ll go home and cry.”

Despite her heart-to-heart to the broadcaster, Fern has put her up for eviction earlier in the week. Explaining her decision, the 66-year-old revealed: “She’s a couple of times suggested that I could fit into one of her bikinis and get into the hot tub.

“There’s no way I’m gonna do that, but she’s asked me two or three times saying, ‘We’re going to do it, we’re going to do it and I’m going to make you over. I’m going to put you in different clothes.’

“It scares me, I don’t want to do any of it and I’m not going to do any of it! ” she fumed. Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse, who appeared on the spin-off show Late and Live, thinks that Ekin has a strategy for her time in the house.

The ballroom dancer commented: “She’s only talking to the real famous people in the house, the influence of people in the house. That’s me going, ‘Girl, I know she’s smart, is she playing a game?’ “.

During her first week in the house, Ekin-Su got a thumbs up from fans when she cheekily asked Gary Goldsmith, Kate Middleton’s uncle, “Where’s Kate? ” This happened after the Princess of Wales said she’d be taking a break from royal duties until Easter because she had an operation.

But Gary refused to comment on speculation surrounding the absence of the future Queen and instead reassured viewers that she was received the best care possible.

Celebrity Big Brother airs on weekdays from 9pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
