Former contestant Jess Impiazzi, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother back in January 2018 series of the reality show, has opened up about her time in the house and says that the contestants struggle with the boredom while taking part in the social experiment programme.
Speaking to Daily Star on behalf of BetVictor Casino, former glamour model turned actress Jess revealed: “I got used to having no phone quickly and having to think for yourself was nice. You get bored in there but you start using your imagination so it’s good for you brain going in there.
“I got so so excited when we had the tasks because you don’t have anything to entertain yourself. We made a checkerboard out of bottle lids and nail varnish but that was gone. Big Brother came and took it when we were sleeping.” Jess also opened up on the extreme measures show producers put in place to make sure the housemates don’t find out who else is going to appear on the show.
She said: “They pick you up a couple of days before and you go to a secret hotel. When your walking around your hotel, you’ve got to wear your hood up to no one sees you and you can’t go around on your own. You can’t just be around roaming the hotel. It’s a top secret operation and I felt like I was in the FBI.”
When asked if she managed to find out who would be joining her in the house, she explained: “I had seen things in the paper. I was trying to Goggle before going in but they are very careful in the hotel that none of you see each other. I heard speculation of Ann Widdecombe but I didn’t hear anyone else.”
Jess managed to make it through to the final without one single nomination from her fellow housemates. Speaking about if there was. a secret to becoming a CBB finalist, she said: “I wanted to be me and that’s all I cared about. I didn’t have an agenda and I think it showed me a person which was different to what people originally saw me as.
“You can’t be anything but yourself. Everything you do in there is you and I think that was a good experience for me. You may say something stupid, everyone does, but that’s just life and we all need to look intentions when it does kick off. I went in there and thought it’s an experience I’ll never get again so have a good time I thought I’d be first out. I said to my mum ‘See you in a few days anyway’ but I was in there four weeks and four days.”
Celebrity Big Brother airs Sunday to Friday on ITV1, STV and ITVX at 9pm
