A fresh dating show exclusively for virgins is reportedly on the horizon after Channel 4 has allegedly managed to secure enough virgins for their brand new series, The Intimacy Retreat, after a year-long search.
A group of sexually inexperienced Brits have agreed to take part in a series of workshops on a Mediterranean island, with the prospect of losing their virginity on camera. The broadcaster has been on the hunt for cast members for months, according to reports – after a study by University College London revealed that the number of Brits who have never had sex is significantly higher than previous generations.
An insider revealed: “Rylan Clark has managed to get ten contestants to live entirely in the nude for his new show Dating Naked, there’s fully-blown orgies on Open House, and Naked Attraction has had Brits getting their bits out on air for years.”
“But producers just couldn’t reel them in.”, reports the Mirror.

They further told the Sun: “It’s been a long slog, with casting limping on since July 2023, so everyone is relieved the show has finally got the green light.”
It’s believed that bosses managed to attract enough applicants by widening their search criteria. They’ve requested participants who “identify” as a virgin. The show aims to coach the novice cast to learn about intimacy, confront sexual fears and gain confidence.
Sexologists are reportedly on hand to guide the stars and hope some decide to lose their virginity on TV.
Channel 4 dished the dirt on their steamy series earlier this year, spilling the beans: “The Intimacy Retreat (working title) is a six-part formatted documentary series for Channel 4 that follows the journey of a group of adults who are virgins (or identify as virgins) as they learn life-changing skills in the art of intimacy.”
The broadcaster added that it’s not all just talk; rather, “Our leading sexologists will be running a unique Mediterranean island retreat that, using a radical and entirely new approach, will help people overcome their fears and insecurities when it comes to intimacy and sex.”
With one in eight 26 year olds admitting to University College London bigwigs they haven’t done the deed a jump from previous gens experts are citing the terror of getting too close for comfort and the horror of social media humiliation as possible culprits. As a result, the experts behind The Intimacy Retreat believe that the programme is like cupid’s arrow for confidence around getting it on, and think it could genuinely help singles looking for love.
If the prospect tickles your fancy, Channel 4 has even set out the welcome mat with a whole list of what they’re looking for in participants, saying: “We can all do with a little help navigating relationships, intimacy and sex. There may be many varied reasons why you are interested in talking to us. Maybe you just haven’t found the right person or you keep waiting for the ‘perfect moment’ that hasn’t come along.”
“Or you lack body confidence, are unsure about your sexual identity or orientation, have social anxiety or physical issues that can make sex worrying or uncomfortable. Perhaps you had a sexual experience a long time ago and have not had sex since for your own reasons, or you have left a religious group that highly values chastity before marriage or you have kept your faith but changed your mind about your values around sex.”
Those shortlisted were required to attend one-to-one meetings in London in late March/early April to stand a chance of being featured on the show.
