Netflix users have warned fellow streamers against watching one “confusing” series.
In the Netflix Bangers post on Facebook, one keen streamer wrote: “The OA was such a great (short) series. I totally recommend. I remember when it came out but wasn’t in[v]ested, I’m glad I did give it a whirl. #oldiebutgoodie.”
Down in the comment section, other members had mixed feelings about the Netflix series as one person typed: “Help! I’m watching now. I feel this must be what an acid trip is like, I’m so confused.” They admitted to having “too many unanswered questions” while someone else said the series “gets weird” during the second season.

Other Netflix users gathered to issue the same warning to anyone thinking about starting the show: “Seriously….don’t bother, it got cancelled after two seasons and the story didn’t get finished […]”
“I wish there was just [one] more season tbh, needed to [be] finished,” typed another disappointed fan. Another person chimed in: “Don’t watch it because Netflix cancelled the series after two seasons, you’ll be curious.”
Despite this, another streamer replied that they “really liked it” even though the show “was cancelled”. Someone else even branded it a “total waste of time” to begin watching.
The OA is a sci-fi series that first aired back in 2016. The show aired for two seasons before it was cancelled and the Netflix description reads: “Seven years after vanishing from her home, a young woman returns with mysterious new abilities and recruits five strangers for a secret mission.”
The cast has a number of famous faces, including The Office’s Phyllis Smith, Harry Potter’s Jason Isaacs, Brit Marling, Ian Alexander, Patrick Gibson, Emory Cohen, Brandon Perea and Brendan Meyer. The OA’s sci-fi story is mixed with both supernatural and fantasy elements that make an intriguing plotline.
Prairie Johnson has been missing for seven years, but suddenly returns back to society and refers to herself as The OA. She was blind before her disappearance, but now Prairie can see and begins acting strangely.
The show was originally planned for five seasons, each to tell one part of the story, but sadly Netflix cut the show back in 2019. Fans have been left with a cliffhanger ending which has understandably angered many streamers who began watching.
