Bernie Winter makes shock discovery next week in Coronation Street.
An emotional Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) confides in Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) that it would have been the son she gave up for adoption Zodiac’s birthday. As she sets off for Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) feeding tube operation, Bernie finds her car being towed away.
Spotting Kit nearby, Bernie’s convinced he’s to blame. Bernie calls at the police station with the intention of making a complaint. But when Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and his colleagues emerge with a cake for Kit and wish him happy 31st birthday, Bernie reels in shock.

At the hospital, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) about to reverse his car into a disabled parking bay when suddenly another car swoops in. Kit flashes his ID and forces the driver to move. Back at home Billy and Paul tell Bernie about Kit, the police officer, who came to their rescue. Bernie’s left quietly buoyed.
Calling at the station she thanks Kit for the kindness he showed Paul, imploring him to give her a chance to explain her side of the story. Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly Rose Campbell) tells Bernie that they need to get the house looking shipshape as Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) is bringing his posh school friends round. But when Linda Hancock (Jacqueline Leonard) reveals she’s booked a table at the bistro to save her the stress, Gemma’s hurt.
It’s been confirmed that former Hollyoaks actor Jacob Roberts has joined the show as Kit, his actual name being Christopher Green, and he is Bernie’s long-lost son who was adopted almost 30 years ago. But Kit is also linked to another resident on the show, with it confirmed he is tied into the storyline about missing Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Kit Green, as he goes by, is a detective who is brought to Weatherfield by DS Swain (Victoria Myers), amid her investigating the murder of missing teen Lauren. She wants his help with the case, with Kit set to be caught up in the plot as Weatherfield cops continue to look for the young woman.
