A Coronation Street star has shared her joy after tying the knot to her long-term partner.
Melissa Johns is best known to ITV viewers as Imogen Pascoe, who dramatically left the show in 2019. On the soap, viewers watched as Imogen tried to make her tumultuous relationship with Kate Connor work, before leaving Weatherfield behind.
But five years on from her soap departure, actress Melissa could not be happier after signing on the dotted line to be wed to her fiancé Dan Hampton. The couple officially became husband and wife on Friday afternoon (October 11), with the star sharing all the details of the wedding on her social media.

In classic style, Melissa – who also works as a disability rights activist – donned a beautiful off-the-shoulder wedding dress, that accentuated her flawless curves. In several photos uploaded by family and friends, it was clear that Melissa was thrilled for her big day as she beamed with smiles during the course of events.
As well as this, a Corrie co-star was one of the guests to attend the ceremony, with actress Bhavna Limbachia also in attendance for the celebrations. Bhavna also shot to fame on the Street, taking on the role of Rana Habeen – and attended the ceremony with hubby Darren Kuppan.
Sharing a glimpse of the festivities once the couple said “I do”, Melissa and Dan showed off the wild reception that had guests throwing shapes and celebrating the happy couple on their Instagram accounts. One particularly fun snap showed beaming bride Melissa donning a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses and a denim jacked, aptly fitted with lacing that read: “Mrs H-J”.
Fans were gushing over the happy couple as they marked the amazing day together, with Corrie co-star Bhavna also wishing the couple well. In a comment under some of the photos from the wedding, Bhavna wrote: “Huge congratulations! What a beautiful day,” followed by a heart and a slew of kisses.
Other soap stars also wished the couple well going forward, including Laura Norton, best known for playing Kerry in Emmerdale. She penned: “Beautiful, happy congratulations!” followed by a heart and a trophy for the happy pair.
Melissa’s acting career has taken off after she left the cobbles back in 2019. Among the slew of acting roles she landed after leaving Weatherfield were The Interceptor and I Hate Suzie, but many viewers may also recognise her as Miss Scott in the newest series of ITV’s drama Grantchester.
Outside of her career in acting, Melissa is a strong ambassador for a number of different disability rights charities, and is often seen campaigning for better representation of disabled people. Melissa herself knows how this feels, having been born without a right forearm, or hand.
