Coronation Street star Cait Fitton says fans won’t believe what happens in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap.
The 21-year-old soap star, who has played troubled teen Lauren Bolton on the cobbles since 2022, says “lots of shocks” are in store for viewers this year. She also revealed that we’ll be seeing a different side to Lauren.
Lauren recently exposed bruises on her body to her new love interest Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), suggesting her relationship with her mystery boyfriend might be abusive. And she told Max and Sabrina about her secret – that she’s posting saucy content on adult site O-Vidz.

But the actress says more twists are in store for Lauren. Speaking to Daily Star at the TV Choice Awards, Cait said: “There’s going to be lots of shocks along the way I think. People are going to be very shocked with what’s to come.
“You’re going to see a different side to our characters I think. Things you didn’t necessarily know or haven’t seen before.”
She also told Daily Star she’d like Lauren to be able to get some funnier scenes as she gets so many serious moments. She’d also like to get more scenes with acting veteran Maureen Lipman, who plays Evelyn.
Asked what her dream storylines are for Lauren, she said: “I think because Lauren is such a hard-faced character… we’re kind of getting there. She’s smiling on and off, just more comedy for her, because there is a little girl in there.
“So many people say to me ‘oh my god, you actually can smile’ and it’s like ‘yeah of course I can, I’m human!’. I’d love to have more scenes with Maureen [Lipman].
“I’d love it because she’s such an icon and she’s just hilarious. Her dry humour is hilarious.”
Quizzed about Lauren’s future with Bobby, Cait said they were suited to one another but admitted their romance was “unusual”. Fans saw the pair share a kiss recently, and he’s managed to make her laugh, which Cait admits is a rare sight.
Bobby’s a hard one because he’s a new character, he’s very likeable,” Cait said. “Lauren isn’t really used to that happy and bubbly energy, so they are quite suited to each other. It is quite an unusual pairing.
“I can’t see where it’s going in the future because I genuinely don’t know, but he brings a good energy to Lauren, and I think he brings a lot to the Street”.
