Corrie fans ‘know’ who stole Damon’s money in huge twist – but it wasn’t Jesse or Adam

Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve cracked the case of who nicked Damon Hay’s stolen loot – and it wasn’t Jesse Chadwick or Adam Barlow.

The notorious Damon (Ciaran Griffiths) recently discovered Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) surgical nightmare. As viewers will remember, she was rushed to hospital with sepsis, a ruptured bowel and pneumonia after a botched operation overseas.

She now has to live with a permanent stoma. Upon hearing about Bethany’s plight and the escalating medical costs from behind bars, Damon, who had an on-off relationship with her mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien), offered to pay for everything.

Damon pledged to cough up the cash from his hidden stash – the proceeds of an armed robbery. However, Sarah didn’t get Damon’s voicemail; instead, it was found by Adam (Sam Robertson).

After speaking with his uncle, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), Adam was told to bin the voicemail, as the money was ill-gotten. This week, the duo were discussing the dosh when Adam was confronted by Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) – Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) new beau, reports the Liverpool Echo.

However, Adam later revealed the truth to Sarah, after her mum Gail put their house on the market to cover Bethany’s bills. Sarah then had a chat with Damon, who revealed that the money had been swiped from the lock-up, assuming Sarah had picked it up.

However, Sarah immediately told him she hadn’t touched it. A gobsmacked Damon was left reeling as his mate checked the lock-up and discovered the dosh had vanished, indicating someone else had nicked it.

And get this, next week’s teasers show Adam gobsmacked by the news, suggesting he wasn’t the thief. Jesse gets grilled too – but Corrie buffs are dead set it wasn’t him.

Fans reckon David stole the cash

On a Corrie Facebook fan page, punters are convinced that it was actually David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) who did the dirty deed, especially after being cheesed off lately with Gail flogging their house, leaving him potentially homeless.

“David took the money he looked well shifty! ” one fan declared. Another was on the same wavelength, saying: “David, so he can buy the house.” A third added their two pence: “I think David,” while another was adamant: “100%.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
